Hope in God

Crisis. Comfort. Hope.

Why are you so downcast, O my soul?

Crisis comes in many forms. Sometimes they come one after another. When things become seemingly hopeless we become angry, bitter, indifferent. We even blame God. I was guilty of this. Like many, my crises, too, are on top of each other and have asked "Why God?" endless times.

More clouds seem to hover.  But I trust that one day they will clear.
Our perspectives do change once we put our faith in God. We hope for better things to happen and we are comforted amid heavy challenges.
Crises may overwhelm for a time, but thank the psalmist for his caring reminder as he rebukes his soul.

So can we...
"Why are you downcast, O my soul?

Why so disturbed within me?

Put your hope in God,

for I will yet praise Him,

my Saviour and my God."

Psalm 42:11

What a comfort! That "God is our refuge and strength, our very present help in trouble."  Psalm 46:1.   Then we continuously pray for comfort and strength through all the challenging months ahead.
