Solitude as Inner Fulfilment
Solitude is a poignant and meaningful word. It has to do with silence and aloneness. My favourite thoughts on solitude comes from Richard Foster. He says:
"We can cultivate an inner solitude and silence that sets us free from loneliness and fear. Loneliness is inner emptiness. Solitude is inner fulfillment."
With inner solitude we are not afraid to be alone, because we know we are not alone, nor do we fear being with others, because they do not control us. Praise God."
Something to reflect on: What to you is solitude?
