"Make Me a Blessing" Hymn
Waking up one break of dawn, this "Make me a Blessing" comes to mind. May we be a blessing to someone today as we reflect on the words of this poignant Christian song. Whilst looking for a video to feature, this one uploaded by SakoPeterborough impressed and touched me; not many young people nowadays sing or play these beautiful and lovely old hymns. I wish to thank this young pianist who has been a blessing.
Make Me a Blessing
Words: Ira B. Wilson, 20th century
Music: George Stark Schuler, 1924
1. Out in the highways and byways of live,
many are weary and sad;
Carry the sunshine where darkness is rife,
making the sorrowing glad.
Refrain:
Make me a blessing, make me a blessing,
Out of my life may Jesus shine;
Make me a blessing, O Savior, I pray,
Make me a blessing to someone today.
2. Tell the sweet story of Christ and His love;
Tell of His pow'r to forgive:
Others will trust Him if only you prove
true ev'ry moment you live.
Refrain.
3. Give as 'twas given to you in your need;
Love as the Master loved you;
Be to the helpless a helper indeed;
Unto your mission be true.
Refrain.
