Friendship and Thoughtfulness

"Thank you" is one of the shortest phrases in the English language but the gratitude it expresses is always profound to a grateful heart. It should never be taken for granted, in friendships, included.

Comes to mind the words of the English writer Samuel Johnson, and I quote:

"We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over; so in a series of kindnesses there is at last one which makes the heart run over."

There are plenty of acquaintances in this world, but very few true friends. There is no need for overflowing words to explain oneself.  A true friend loves and understands, even before thoughts are spoken.
